Students applying for a Ph.D. must satisfy the following requirements: 1. Have a Master’s Degree in Islamic studies with a grade of at least “Good” or its equivalent; or 2. Have a Master’s Degree in any other major with a grade of at least “Good”; and have passed all of the supplementary courses and research required by the Faculty Council. After the Faculty Council approves the student’s thesis topic and research plan, the student will need at least two years to obtain his Ph.D. The thesis defense is scheduled after permission has been obtained from the supervisor and the advisor and upon the approval of the Faculty Council.
