Participants in this program will be able to : - Strengthen their knowledge in the epidemiology of aging, its impact on community health and secondary economic and social changes. - Focus on physiological and patho-physiological changes of the aging human body, the secondary consequences on health, function, and psychosocial well-being of elders. - Learn skills that will allow them to be active members of the treating interdisciplinary teams caring for older adults or of the treating organizations. - Learn strategies that will enhance their communication, assessment, and care planning throughout the whole continuum of care (ambulatory clinic, inpatient, long term and hospice care). - Utilize gained skills while providing care to elders in home care settings, hospital, day care or long term care facilities. In addition, participants will be able to learn and apply research methodologies in the field of aging. - Develop leadership skills in the field of Gerontology, and be mentors for other students in the filed
