The three-year curriculum leading to the Bachelor of Science enables the graduate to enter professional practice or to continue his or her studies in programs leading to advanced degrees in either one of the following broad fields of specialization: construction management, environmental engineering, environmental fluid mechanics, geotechnical engineering, hydrology, materials, structural and engineering mechanics, transportation, and water resources planning and management and Petroleum Engineering. The graduates of the B.Sc. in Civil Engineering curriculum may function in the areas of planning and design, construction, research and development, operations, and maintenance. The CITYU Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree enables the students to continue and enroll for the Engineering Diploma in Civil and Environmental Engineering with either one of the three concentrations, Structures, Environmental or Transportation Engineering. The Engineering Diploma entitles to the membership of either one of the two Professional Engineering Societies in Lebanon. The CITYU Engineering Diploma in Petroleum Engineering enables the graduate to pursue higher education in this area or join the work force in this growing sector.
